Governance
Ashesi University is a subsidiary of Ashesi University Foundation, a non-profit, publicly supported US corporation based in Seattle, Washington. The Foundation's efforts are led by an experienced Board of Trustees and Advisory Board composed of academic and industry representatives from the US and Ghana who share a vision of establishing an institution that will train Africa's future leaders.
Board of Trustees
A well-qualified Board of Trustees, composed of individuals with experience in business,
information technology, finance, and African studies, oversees the Ashesi University project.

Nana Apt, Dean of Academic Affairs
Dr. Nana Apt is Professor of Sociology and Director of the Centre for Social Policy Studies at University of Ghana, Legon. She earned undergraduate degrees in philosophy, psychology and English from Queen's University of Canada, a Masters in Social Work from University of Toronto, Canada, and a PhD in sociology from University of Ghana.
Patrick Awuah, President
Previously worked as a Program Manager for Microsoft Corporation. Earned a BS in engineering and a BA in economics at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania; member of the Tau Beta Pi honor society for excellence in engineering. MBA degree from UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business.
Nina Marini, Vice President
Previously worked as a financial analyst with Horst, Frisch, Clowery & Finan Inc. in Washington D.C. and in public relations at Bridgestone Corporation's global headquarters in Tokyo, Japan. Earned a BA in history at Haverford College and an MBA degree from UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business.
Yaw Nyarko, Acting Dean of Institutional Development
Dr. Yaw Nyarko is a professor of economics at New York University. He earned undergraduate degrees in economics and mathematics from the University of Ghana, and Masters and PhD degrees in economics from Cornell University. Dr. Nyarko also teaches microeconomics at Ashesi as a Visiting Professor.
Mildred Wulff, Director of Business Operations
Previously worked in market research at CDNOW Inc., and as an analyst for Jupiter Communications and The Prudential Insurance Company of America. Earned a BA in economics from Swarthmore College.
