Ashesi University College has a vacancy for an Admissions Officer. Reporting to the Registrar, the position requires someone with excellent interpersonal and communication (both written and oral) skills. Ability to accomplish multiple tasks on schedule and a strong sense of ethics is vital to succeed in this position.

Qualifications & Skills

Required:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree

  • Experience in a similar role

  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills

  • Demonstrated ability in the use of information technology

Preferred:

  • Previous working experience in an academic institution

  • Excellent event coordination and organization skills

  • Experience in marketing

  • Office administration skills       

Duties

Application Processing

  • Enter new applicant data into tracking database and check aggregate calculations
    Process all applicants in the tracking database and ensure all the necessary requirements are met

  • Interview applicants as well as schedule interviews for applicants

  • Notify all applicants of their admissions status

  • Prepare admission letters for all admitted applicants

  • Track deposit payments for admitted applicants

  • Send updated list of new students to Finance, Operations and Student Affairs as necessary

School Visits

  • Coordinate and schedule school visits

  • Assist in the development of content for school presentations

  • Assist the Registrar during school visits

  • Deliver presentations

  • Arrange for all the necessary logistics for school visits

Marketing Activities

  • Assist in the development of content for adverts, documentary, etc

  • Manage TV and radio advertisement

  • Process payments to TV and radio vendors

  • Ensure that documentary and radio announcements run as scheduled

  • Assist in monitoring the impact of advertisements on the admissions process

Other Duties

  • Schedule Admissions Committee meetings

  • Answer admissions e-mail inquiries

  • Meet with parents and/or prospective students to answer complex questions

  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein

Ashesi University College is looking for a skilled professional for the position of Alumni and Public Relations Officer.  Reporting to the Associate Director of Development, the position requires someone with an instinct and passion for generating content for publicity, excellent communication skills (both oral and written) and a high level of organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to accomplish multiple tasks on schedule and a strong sense of ethics is vital to succeed in this position.

Qualifications & Skills

Required:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree

  • Experience working in the field of public relations

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Minimum of 3 years work experience in a similar role

  • Demonstrated ability in use of information technology

  • Excellent time management and organization skills

Preferred:
 

  • Experience in journalism and/or blogging is an advantage

  • Experience in marketing and event coordination is a plus

Duties

Public Relations

  • Assist in managing the Public Relations function of the university

  • Develop and write material for press and publicity

  • Manage and co-ordinate events and Ashesi’s interactions with the media

  • Design and develop both the print and on-line version of Ashesi’s bi-annual publication, the Ashesi Bulletin

  • Develop, upload and manage news and alumni content on the institution’s website.

Alumni Relations

  • Assist the Director of Development in coordinating programmes that increase alumni support, keep alumni connected and maintain their interaction with the university

  • Process, record and acknowledge gifts from the Alumni community

  • Ensure accurate and current alumni database

  • Respond to alumni requests/inquiries through written correspondence, telephone contact and personal contact upon request

  • Coordinate with faculty in engaging alumni in academic activities

Administrative
 

  • Generate standard  and ad hoc reports and other information as required

  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein
