Applying to Ashesi

Thank you for your interest in applying to Ashesi University. Ashesi's application is fairly demanding compared to other institutions in Ghana. We therefore advise applicants to begin the application process as soon as possible.

Please note that Ashesi will not accept completed applications that are faxed or emailed to the admissions office.

Application fee: GHC40.00 for Ghanaian nationals; $100.00 for International applicants (Admissions fees are waived if you apply in November or December 2010)

Ashesi considers the following factors in making admissions decisions.

  • Grades in secondary school, strength of secondary school curriculum, class rank.
  • For serious consideration, one of the following is required: Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) scores of 15 or better; A-Level examination scores; International Baccalaureate (IB) examination scores; or Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) scores
  • Extra-curricular activities
  • Essays
  • Recommendations
  • Interview (by invitation only)
  • International students for whom English is a second language must demonstrate English language proficiency by submitting TOEFL examination scores.

Prospective applicants residing in Accra are strongly advised to visit our campus (see directions).  A visit to campus gives you an opportunity to speak with the faculty, staff and students of Ashesi University, and thus gives you a better sense of the Ashesi community.

Application Deadline
Application deadlines for the 2011 academic year will be in mid-April and late August 2011. Prospective students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
